MARIE-THERES STEINGASSNER
Marie-Theres Steingassner (1986) studied art history at the Institute of Art History, Karl Franzens University, Graz, Austria (B.A., M.A.). Her master thesis was on Rirkrit Tiravanija and Fiona Hallinan, and her bachelor was on Rineke Dijkstra and Sam Taylor Wood. From 2015 to 2016 she worked for Camera Austria. She has done academic projects, given lectures and (assisted in) research. She also collaborated with Gallery Zimmermann Kratochwill on several projects. She has visited Manila in 2017 for academic research on relational aesthetics. In the future, she plans to do more extensive research on video art/moving images, and she plans to connect this medium to emotion theories, which will result in a PhD. During her residency, she will curate the solo exhibition of Austrian artist Hermann Nietsch at 1335MABINI from October 20 - November 17, 2018.
